CN Tower

My report is going to be on the CN Tower, which is located in downtown Toronto, Canada. The CN Tower was originally called the Canadian National Tower. The tower is 1815.39 feet tall, and was once the tallest free-standing tower for 31 years.
The CN Tower was built in 1973. The architect of this amazing structure is John Andrews. Canadian National wanted to demonstrate the strength of the Canadian industry by building a tower taller than any tower in the world. The construction of the CN tower cost $63 million. That’s a lot of money!

The CN tower is made out of concrete and steel cable, and it was built using 45 hydraulic jacks and glass. The tower is shaped like a hexagon pillar, with a tripod at the bottom, a lot like the Eiffel Tower in Paris. At night the CN Tower lights up with LED lights.
The only time the public is only allowed to use the stairs is during stair climbing charity events, for charities. It takes the average person 30 minutes to walk up the stairs during these events, but the record is held by Brendan Kennoy, a police officer, who climbed the stairs in 7 minutes and 52 seconds. Wow, that’s fast!

There are three main visitor areas; the main deck level, which is seven stories tall, the sky pod, which is 1,135 ft tall, and a disco dance floor, called Sparkles, which is the highest disco dance floor in the world. On a clear day, you can see 62-70 miles away, to Rochester and Niagara Falls. There is also a 360 degree revolving restaurant, which completes a full rotation every 72 minutes. The CN Tower also has the largest wine cellar. I hope you enjoyed my radical report on the CN tower. That’s all for now and goodbye!
